I'm silly, I know.

Because in my mind there is this arbitrary list of milestones

I envision for my family as the years pass.

A list of things I use to gauge how we're coming along.

the SUV has been the only silly thing we have checked off the list.

I can now check off real artwork.

And when I say real art,

I mean like a handpainted,

than my very own Baby W.

I pretty much shed real tears when I opened this beauty.

Are you wondering how they created this original piece?

Here is the answer, in the words of Modern Bird Studios:

Each piece requires a tremendous amount of attention, detail, and time to create. We take a photograph, and break it down into a two, three or four color image, which results in abstract shapes that make up the form. We then choose contrasting colors to create the painting. The result is a marriage between technology and traditional painting to create a totally hip urban-style art piece that enriches your home.

I especially love that this piece is painted directly on wood, so you can see the grains through the paint--so very urban!
