What I Wore on Mini Date Night

What I Wore on Our 45 Minute Date

We don't get out much,
unless there's a squirmy toddler in tow.
When we dated, we went to see a movie every week--every week people.
Now we're lucky if we see a movie every season.

And I suppose I have that first time momma anxiety
where my mind renders me physically incapable of calling a teenage babysitter to watch my pride and joy.
I need to get over it, I know.
But so far,  my Mom and a few other adult friends
are the only babysitters Baby W has ever known.

So last night, when my Momma was visiting
she suggested we go out to dinner--alone.
And we didn't turn down her offer.
Two minutes after she made the suggestion,
we were dressed and ready to go.
And this is what I wore
for chips
salsa
and crunchy chicken tacos.

Yes, I had to loosen the belt after our third basket of chips.

Black Cotton Sun Dress: Old Navy. Shoes: Forever 21.
Belt: Macy's Clearance Bin. Cardigan: Old Navy.

Because the hubby was determined to be a gentleman on our mini date, he insisted on driving--bum leg and all. But it meant I had to sit in the back seat while he propped his leg on the passenger seat.

Good times.

As always, I will be linking up my outfit to these favorite blogs:

Your outfits are always so cute! You are definitely a risk taker...I am not. But you make me want to go out and buy things like the red pants!!

i can relate. i have sisters who have lived right next door or down the street, so my children always have their aunts babysit, or grandma and grandpa, and it may stay that way forever.
aside from the children, your outfit is cute, and it was so sweet of your husband to be such a gentleman and drive. no action in the back seat i take it!!! =D

You are too cute. I'm a first time Momma (insta-mom to a 4 now 5 year old). I just now let a teenager watch him, and I'm not sure if I'll do it again b/c they ended up watching movies all day (which we never do). And I was nervous wreck all 6 hours of it. AND I called every hour and drove her crazy (I'm sure!).

Anyway - yay for impromptu date nights.

You are adorable.

We are the same way. We don't get sitters as often as we should. We haven't had a real date since Christmas time when we went to visit our family.

Sooooo cute as always! Glad to hear you two were able to have some alone time. It is always so refreshing, isn't it?

I hope you are having a happy weekend!
xoxo.

Your Hubby is adorable for wanting to drive. I hear you on not leaving my baby with a teenager. I think back now on my babysitting days and think, those parents were crazy leaving me with their kids when I was that young. I only leave my baby with my Mom or my In-laws.

I MUST go to Old Navy and get that dress. You look super cute. What a great man for wanting to drive. Dates are great, even when short. You have inspired me to try and find a sitter so that we can RUN to Chili's quick like tonight and celebrate our anniversary. If only we lived closer to the parents this could happen more often.

You look so cute! I can relate to not getting out much and I am like you afraid of the teenage babysitter.

I notice you seem to love belts and look cute in them. I would love to send you one from my shop and maybe we could do a give away on your blog for one too. Let me know what you think. You can find me as usual at http://www.bacontimewiththehugnryhypo.blogspot.com/

I hope you take this as a compliment, because that's how I mean it: when you smile the way you are in the last pic of you, you look just like the Olsen twins!

Oh, and that dress is super cute. :)

You look so cute! I'm not great with last minute outfits. I always intend to get dressed up but then end up in jeans and a t-shirt.

I love the dress! It's absolutely adorable!

And about the babysitter thing... I'm the same way. I am not a stay at home mom, so I'm used to leaving my son with other people, but only at a licensed and accredited (extra high standards) daycare. And since we live far away from family, the only babysitters we have watch our son are girls who work at the daycare and probably know more about what's good for raising my son than I do (at least in an early childhood education way)... but that's only about twice a year...

I know that when I was a teenager, people trusted me with their children and everything went over without a problem.... but I just can't do it. Maybe when he's like.. 7?

We used to go to the movies every week too. Sometimes we saw a movie on Saturday AND Sunday. Now, we probably go once every 3 months. We went to see Fast Five on Friday. Glad you were able to have an adult dinner. You looked super cute doing it. :)

We once babysat for a friend who was going on their first date without the baby in six months. They took a super long time out on their date...but I can't blame them haha :)

Love it- I have that dress and that cardigan! Now you've inspired me to get a belt for it (I'm thinking red or something fun, because I'm usually all black and grey).

You are seriously the cutest things ever! Lol. Ok, so you're not a thing but you know what I mean ;) I totally relate to not wanting to hire a babysitter. My husband and I didn't go out on a date alone til our daughter was almost 3! Lol. Granted, he was deployed a good amount of that time. But still =)

Sounds like a great date night! I was really picky about who I trusted with my son, too, when he was a bay.

Great outfits and pics!

I know what you mean about going to the movies. I am hoping to go see Something Borrowed, but it won't surprise me at all if I somehow never get around to it.

We are the same way! We use to go to the movies & out to dinner like every weekend. Well now we hardly go to the movies, ever! lol Not that I'm complaining just saying lol. We have let anyone else baby sit out little girl either (who will be two this month). Only my mom & dad & my hubby's dad has watched her. So you're not the only one of coarse :) lol.
