Vertically Challenged and a Whole Lotta Yellow

What I Wore

These photos turned out grainy. Maybe a photo expert can tell me why?

I love this purse so much, I kiss it a few times a day {true story}.
Dress: Victoria's Secret catalog, Cardigan: Gap, Belt: Forever 21, Shoes: Target, Purse: c/o Hobo International, Watch: Fossil Outlet, Necklace: c/o Lisa Leonard Designs, Nail Polish: OPI the "it" color.
So are you now noticing my height in relation to the couch?
And is it making you realize just how short I really am?
And now you're wondering my exact height.
So this is where I tell you that I am 4'10 and 3/4.
And you're like: woah, I no idea she was that short
And I'm like: Yeah I am, and I don't even need a special seat to drive.
And you're like: Ok, cuz I was just about to ask that.
And I'm like: Enough about my height--what about all the different shades of yellow I am trying to incorporate into this outfit.
And you're like: Well, I wasn't going to say anything, but now that you mention it...

WIW: Fresh Produce

What I Wore: Fresh Produce

I love a dress that is fancy enough for Church yet still casual enough for everyday wear.  Meet that dress:

Dress, Wrap Cardigan: c/o Fresh Produce,
Shoes: Soda, Necklace: Lisa Leonard

There's something about wearing a hood that makes me really happy.  Like Christmas morning happy. I know, weird.  It seems hoods make me feel younger and even a bit mysterious...two qualities I imagine are fleeting for most of us busy Mommas.

What I'm getting at is...I wear hoods whenever I get the chance.
And then I turn up a favorite Jay Sean song, grab Baby W's little hands and dance around the living room like I'm 12 years old--which always sends Baby W into a fit of hysterical belly laughter.

You would laugh too, if you saw me attempting to dance.

Be sure to check out the new ME line by Fresh Produce.
All made of some of the most divine fabric I have ever run my hands across.
Comfortable, versatile, and totally my style--I am loving my new outfit courtesy of Fresh Produce.

And if you were my real life, in person BFF, then you would have been lucky enough to see me wear my new wrap cardigan three days in a row--yep, I'm cereal {that means "serious" in goofy kid talk}.

Happy Shopping!

On another note,
you know the burlap table runner from my Kitchen Sneak Peek post?

Well, I talked my Momma into spending the whole day sewing with me so I could put a handful of these fun pretties in my shop for y'all.  There are only 8 left.

Check out these farmhouse burlap runners HERE.

On Sunday, I Showered

Dress: Old Navy, Sweater: Old Navy, Shoes: Soda, Flower: Fossil Outlet, Watch: Fossil Outlet, Necklace: Lisa Leonard Designs

On Sunday I showered.  AND did my hair. AND then put on a dress for Church. It was quite a a feat for this packing Momma.  The last ten days have been sweats and baseball cap kinda days, and I imagine the next few weeks will be the same. So let's soak in this pretty and simple summer dress together shall we, Ahhhhhh.  Because it's all grease and grime from here on out.

Tomorrow is day one of moving day.
Bitter sweet.

WIW: Grayscale

Shirt: Old Navy, Sweater: Old Navy, Pants: Banana Republic, Shoes: Bakers, Watch: Fossil, Ring: LMM

So a couple of things:

1. The idea was to wear all one color so as to highlight the fact that I finally painted my nails a color. But now I'm starting to think I just kinda look like a dolphin...a dolphin with yellow finger nails. I will be linking this post up to WIW on The Pleated Poppy and Real Momma, Real Style on MGR.

2. Did you notice my new watch. I'm pretty smitten about it. It's my late Momma's Day gift from the hubs. I have been eyeing this watch by Michael Kors for over a year, but its $495 and that's just cuh-razy! So I found mine at the Fossil outlet store for $85.

3. I love ya guys, I really do. Just wanted to put that out there.

4. Did you know that right now, the Gap and Banana Republic are having an additional 40% off their clearance items, right now.  Yep, its true. That's how I got me these skinny cargo pants.  And we like BR because their sizes run large, so I always end up buying a size smaller than I really am--oh yeah, and they have skinny mirrors in the dressing rooms.

5. Have you ever wondered what happens when you accidentally use self-rising flour instead of normal flour when making chewy chocolate chip cookies? You get cookie biscuits--that turn into cookie rocks in 30 minutes.

6.   I added a whole bunch of goodies to the shop today. If ya feel like shopping, be sure to use the code: SUMMER for 10% OFF.

7. I have been a painting fool the last few days. Can't wait to unveil all the refinished furniture.  Happy colors!

8. Final thought:

High Waisted: A Girl's Best Friend

Shirt: TJ Maxx, Skirt: La Vie Petite, Shoes: Forever 21

I once heard a rumor that Mariah Carey had her two bottom ribs removed so that she could fit into clothes better...or was it Janet Jackson? On either account, I fit into that category of girls with an extra large rib cage.  Put it this way, in middle school my ribs protruded further than my tatas--and it was cause for some major juvenile teasing. Which may be why I am totally stoked that high waisted skirts are back in. They give me some semblance of a waist and they totally hide the post baby pooch that every old man at church mistakes for a preggo bump, not cool.

Visit La Vie Petite if you want your very own handmade, mustard yellow, pooch-hiding, high waisted, glorious skirt.

What were you wearing when...

Top: Forever 21, Sweater: Target, Belt: Old Navy, Watch: Target,
Jeans: Paige Denim @ Nordstroms, Shoes: Aerosoles

My blouse and shoes were purchased a looonnnggg time ago. In fact, a lot of items I still wear regularly were purchased months, if not years ago--as in I have had them since high school or early college.

Which got me thinking about something funny...
Is it just me, or can you remember exactly where and when every single item of your clothing was purchased?  And, is it weird that I remember exactly the outfit I was wearing on all the special moments of my life?

Like the goofy light wash denim Miss Sixty bell bottoms, Abercrombie shirt, Gap jean jacket and white platform Sketcher sneakers that I wore on my first date with the hubs.
