The One Where I Show You Pictures of My Spanx {true story}

Oh YES I did.
And oh YES I am blogging about it.

I finally broke down,
and I jumped onto the Spanx bandwagon today.

{purchased at Costco}

Seriously people,
these bad boys have changed my life,
and I just bought them a few hours ago!

Despite the fact that I nearly dislocated my shoulder
to pull them over my head,
once I had my new Spanx on,
a miracle occurred.

My "pooch" {as I affectionately refer to it}
disappeared.
As in gone, nada, not there!
I even had a smidgen of extra room in my jeans,
rather than the usual "hangover".

And those love handles, poof!
I know, totally worth the dislocated shoulder.

I am pretty sure my waist loses about 3 inches when I wear these!

All I can say,
don't knock it till you try it.

That. Is. All.

I totally had maternity spanx because my graduation dress was white and prego thighs need spanx, especially in a white dress.

LOVE the "weight loss" too!!!

So glad I am going to Costco this weekend.

Ha, I bought a pair of spanx when I was 7 months pregnant and had to go to a wedding. Nothing I owned looked good because I was way huge, more than normal I mean. I had a black jersey material dress and I didn't want and lines showing. So I shoved me and my very pregnant belly into a pair of spanx. Man when the night was over and I took them off I felt like I could breath again. And probably, so did my baby haha.

Thanks for the post! I've been looking at these online, but didn't know what size to get. I don't want it too tight, but tight enough to do it's job. :) I'm 5'4, 120 lbs. Can I ask your height and weight, if that's not too personal?

At February 15, 2011 at 4:47 AM , Blogger Unknown said...

haha, I am so with you! I bought the kind of spanx that have undies and you pull them up to just under your bra. They hold in both my pooches, upper and lower (courtesy of my monkey, and some weight gain.) It just smooths everything out, and also makes you sit up straighter. I have to do a funny little danced to get into them, and it is somewhat tiring to get into them, but the result is worth it!
Welcome to the club!

I have the Target brand of spanx that I wear when I have on a tighter skirt. It's amazing! Though I do feel a great release when it comes off. But the feeling of having no lines and no flub is fantastic!

funny stuff, I actually have a cosco trip planned for this weekend, will have to look for them. I have some of the cheeper nock offs, they work nice under dresses to avoid panty lines and give a sleek look (even after 2 kids) not always easy.

I love Spanx! I had a wedding not long after my second pregnancy, and they were a godsend for me to be in my bridesmaid dress. They work for any body type. I especially love that they come footless, or in shorts, full body, anything. So worth the prices. Glad to see someone else enjoys them the way I do.

I will have to check my Costco a little closer next time. BTW-- have you MUST try the spanx leggings!!! AWESOME!!! and yes...you might still slightly dislocate a body part getting in and out of those but yeah, so totally worth it!!

At February 15, 2011 at 10:00 AM , Blogger Marianne said...

Spanx are the best invention ever! I however prefer their tights over the nylons - they last 10x longer. I run their nylons in one wearing and for the price that is painful!

They even make bathing suits at www.spanx.com but the prices are pretty painful

I've got me some luv-muffin handles...I've been able to hide them with Suddenly Slim undershirts from Target. They are only about $15 I believe. Problem? They get stretched out kind of easy so I find myself spending $$ stocking up every few months. I have been debating breaking down and buying some Spanx but on their website they are soo expensive! I suppose Costco would be cheaper. I'll have to swipe my momma's Costco card and buy me some this weekend. (I could just work out more and lose the lovehandles but that would make life way too easy.) I am glad that you shared this with us. It's nice to know that even someone as thin and gorgeous as you isn't afraid to talk about the pooch problem!

Love it! Except that if I wear them too much then I forget that yes I do need to still TRY and lose those last 10 pounds of baby weight! And maybe do some crunches. I would love to have a sans-pooch body WITHOUT spanx someday!!

I am going to get some. That is awesome!

At February 15, 2011 at 2:36 PM , Blogger Jessica said...

I am going to check out costco, like tomorrow!haha

BUT you can also get that at Last Chance (where stuff goes after Nordstrom Rack) for super cheap like $15 cheap! I have like 4 pairs but I may need 7 because I'm kind of addicted to them!

Oh, this may be too much information but the ones with "easy access" (ie a slit in the vagaga area) are even better! This all just means less chance of dislocating your shoulder throughout the day when you have to potty!

I'm so happy that you are so real Ashley Love it!

Love and Hugs, Jessica

I have been considering getting spanx as well! But have been nervous... I don't know how I would do being sucked in skin tight.. but heck if it reduces 3 inches off the waist, it's well worth it!
How much were they if you don't mind me asking?

At February 15, 2011 at 4:24 PM , Blogger Celeste said...

Amazing, aren't they!? I am addicted to Spanx, ever since having my twins. I'm pretty tiny, but have some serious tummy damage from carrying two 7 pound babies (*coughtimeforatummytuckcough*), but you would never know it when I wear these. LOVE them! ♥ Best. thing. ever.

I love Spanx but do not love how much they cost here. When they are on sale the price is $40.00 so imagine the regular price. I have never purchased the kind you show there, just the pantyhose. They work great but I only get them for big events and then I have fake nails and have to make sure I don't drink much so as not to tear them pulling them back up. Otherwise....I love them. Think I will go and buy a pair this weekend.

All right, I think I might need to try them, I have this dress that just doesn't quite fit over the baby belly remains.
