Nylon Baby Headband with Flower Clip TUTORIAL

Baby Nylon Headband Tutorial
{featured on LMM Headband Week}
{{and you can even switch out the flower clip}}

All my favorite little smushy baby girls at church have these super cute, super giant flower headbands made out of nylon material.  Every Sunday the headband is adorned with a new pretty flower--and I have always wondered how to make one.

And since this is Headband Week at Little Miss Momma, I thought it would be the perfect time to teach myself--and YOU!  So here is my version of how to make your very own nylon baby headband with a slot to switch out your flower clips whenever you want--PERFECT baby shower gift!

Let's just say that the hubby wasn't too excited when I used Baby W as a model for my latest headband tutorial--but a Momma's gotta do what a Momma's gotta do when you have a lil guy instead of a lil girl.

Here's what you'll need:
A pair of nylons in your choice of color
Flower clip {mine has an alligator clip}
Needle and thread
Ribbon in color of your choice {about 6 inches}
Scissors
Hot glue

STEP ONE:
Cut off the toe of one leg of your nylons.

Now cut the other end of the leg just before the woo-hoo region.

You should have one leg of nylon now {minus the toe and the top}.

STEP TWO:
Take your needle and thread and sew the ends together with an up and down stitch.

Don't knot of the end.  Instead, scrunch up the headband and then wrap the extra string a few times around the headband {see pic for better explanation}:

Now knot off you string.

STEP THREE:
Now you'll want to hid the ugly string with some pretty ribbon.
I used a lighter to singe the end of my ribbon so that it would fray.

Place a dot of glue on the backside of the scrunched part of your headband, and then place the end of your ribbon firmly onto the glue.

Wrap your ribbon around the headband like so:

Then cut off the excess ribbon, singe the end, and place hot glue down and glue the other end down to the headband.

**IMPORTANT**: Be sure that when you glue your ribbon down, you do so on the INSIDE of the headband--because you want there to be a slot for your flower clip on the FRONT of your headband.
Then take your clip and slide it through the ribbon slot:

And VOILA!
Your very own little baby girl precious stretchy headband!
{You can add a piece of felt to your flower clip so that it doesn't scratch your precious Little's head}

I had to squeeze in this last picture of the LAST headband Baby W will ever wear--EVER!  He's gonna just love this picture when he's 16, don't you think?

Remember to check back all week long for even MORE headband tutorials--because it's HEADBAND WEEK at Little Miss Momma!

And stop by on FRIDAY to our LINKY PARTY where you can link up all things headband related!
Hooray!!!

Happy Headbanding!

Oh my gosh, Ashley. I can't stop laughing. He's going to destroy those pictures by the time he's 16. Very pretty headband. I love them all.

I love that you put them on your little guy. I make those too for baby shower gifts. Always wanted to try one on my boys but never had the guts to do it.

I love it! Since we moved to So. Cal, I have lots of nylons not in use anymore. About how long is the piece used? Thanks!
