Father's Day Gift Guide

What to get Dad for Father's Day

I always have trouble finding the perfect gift for Father's Day.
Do I go with something sentimental, something he needs, something personal, small, big???
And if any of you are like me, then you've been struggling too.
Here are some ideas I found around the web {some with your help}.

Lap Top Case

Grill Guru Kit

What are you getting for Dad this year?

I've Been Selfish Shopping

I always get the itch for selfish shopping just before Christmas
{I attribute this to my impatient nature}.
Wanna see what I got?

The perfect brown boot.
Just rugged enough, without being to "cowgirl", not that I have a problem with "cowgirl" or anything.
YeeHaw!

And the red zipper in the back makes me giddy every time I look at it.
Thank you Carlos Santana, for going into the shoe business.
{link to more info on these pretties}
{btw: mine were 40% off at Famous Footwear}

And just so you know I'm not all talk, I am
announcing here and now that I have the pattern to this lovely Inner Hooker hat in my possession.  And I even bought yarn!
Next step, learn to read pattern--who wants to make this hat with me?

Just today, a new and super beautiful headband arrived in the mail for me from our newest sponsor, Cozette Couture.  And since I don't have a little girl as squishy and precious as this,

...I will be forced to model the headband for you myself {stay tuned next week}.  And when you see the pictures next week, promise you won't compare me to this breathtaking Cozette Couture model:

{unbearable, right?!}

Last night I finally planned out my Scentsy order for myself Christmas gifts.
This fabu warmer was in my order--its called the Plantation.
And it's kinda like Tommy Bahama and Shabby Chic made a baby and this is what popped out:

And since I have a sample of every single fragrance at my house this week, I was able to put together a list of my favorites {just in case you were interested}:  French Lavender, Black Raspberry Vanilla, Pumpkin Roll, Cranberry Muffin, Home Sweet Home, Baked Apple Pie, Camu Camu, Lush Gardenia, Cinnamon Vanilla, Nursery and My Dear Watson.

So what was your latest purchase?

Nylon Baby Headband with Flower Clip TUTORIAL

Baby Nylon Headband Tutorial
{featured on LMM Headband Week}
{{and you can even switch out the flower clip}}

All my favorite little smushy baby girls at church have these super cute, super giant flower headbands made out of nylon material.  Every Sunday the headband is adorned with a new pretty flower--and I have always wondered how to make one.

And since this is Headband Week at Little Miss Momma, I thought it would be the perfect time to teach myself--and YOU!  So here is my version of how to make your very own nylon baby headband with a slot to switch out your flower clips whenever you want--PERFECT baby shower gift!

Let's just say that the hubby wasn't too excited when I used Baby W as a model for my latest headband tutorial--but a Momma's gotta do what a Momma's gotta do when you have a lil guy instead of a lil girl.

Here's what you'll need:
A pair of nylons in your choice of color
Flower clip {mine has an alligator clip}
Needle and thread
Ribbon in color of your choice {about 6 inches}
Scissors
Hot glue

STEP ONE:
Cut off the toe of one leg of your nylons.

Now cut the other end of the leg just before the woo-hoo region.

You should have one leg of nylon now {minus the toe and the top}.

STEP TWO:
Take your needle and thread and sew the ends together with an up and down stitch.

Don't knot of the end.  Instead, scrunch up the headband and then wrap the extra string a few times around the headband {see pic for better explanation}:

Now knot off you string.

STEP THREE:
Now you'll want to hid the ugly string with some pretty ribbon.
I used a lighter to singe the end of my ribbon so that it would fray.

Place a dot of glue on the backside of the scrunched part of your headband, and then place the end of your ribbon firmly onto the glue.

Wrap your ribbon around the headband like so:

Then cut off the excess ribbon, singe the end, and place hot glue down and glue the other end down to the headband.

**IMPORTANT**: Be sure that when you glue your ribbon down, you do so on the INSIDE of the headband--because you want there to be a slot for your flower clip on the FRONT of your headband.
Then take your clip and slide it through the ribbon slot:

And VOILA!
Your very own little baby girl precious stretchy headband!
{You can add a piece of felt to your flower clip so that it doesn't scratch your precious Little's head}

I had to squeeze in this last picture of the LAST headband Baby W will ever wear--EVER!  He's gonna just love this picture when he's 16, don't you think?

Remember to check back all week long for even MORE headband tutorials--because it's HEADBAND WEEK at Little Miss Momma!

And stop by on FRIDAY to our LINKY PARTY where you can link up all things headband related!
Hooray!!!

Happy Headbanding!
