Headband Week Highlights

HEADBAND WEEK was a blast!  I was overwhelmed by the talent and creativity of all those who linked up their headband projects.  Here are just a few of my favorites:

Loving these Knit Headbands from Peace Love & Crafts

Totally swooning over these glamorous headbands from I am Momma, Hear Me Roar. I feel like these should be sold in a high-end boutique, right!

So clever how Mary Janes & Galoshes used her wedding dress to create this elegant and fun lace headband!

Learn how to bead your very own headband with Joy is At Home
{a wonderful tutorial}:

Calico provides amazing tutorials for a handful of adorable fabric covered headbands--and how cute is her little girl!

Get Craftin is a Headband-a-holic like myself and has so many that I love:

AND she loves buttons, just like me--case in point; her Button Headband like no other!

Check out this cute little girl headband made out of an woman's shirt by Made It On Monday.  The BEST part is that she made a crazy cute ruffle baby shirt to match!

And I ESPECIALLY love how Jill used her son to model these adorable little girl clothes--see, I'm not the only one!

There were sooooo many more that I fell in love with--and you will too! For the complete list of headbands featured on headband week visit our link party by clicking here!

World's Easiest Bohemian Hippie Headband TUTORIAL

Officially the World's Easiest
Bohemian Headband Tutorial
{featured on Headband Week}

So by the end of the week, the creative portion of my brain has sorta fizzled.
And all I could come up with was this insanely easy braided headband.

I've noticed that these bohemian braided leather headbands have been all the rage lately {at least according to Claire's Accessories at the mall}.  And all you need to know how to do is BRAID--and then you too can have your very own Bohemian Hippie Style Headband!

All you need are 2 pieces of leather cord {purchased at Michael's}
And one strand of gold chain {purchased in the jewelry section at Michael's}
I used 3 feet of each {for a VERY long headband--shrinks when you braid}
*You could even use three pieces of fabirc or ribbon*

Then all you do is tie a knot at the end and braid the three strands together!

Yep, that's it!

And you can wear this headband hippie style...

Or Princess style...

I love the way its soooo long that the strands hang down in your hair.

And guess what?

It can even be worn as a wrap bracelet!

Remember to stop by on Friday and link up to our Headband Linky Party!

Gotta love Headband Week!

Happy Headbanding!

Nylon Baby Headband with Flower Clip TUTORIAL

Baby Nylon Headband Tutorial
{featured on LMM Headband Week}
{{and you can even switch out the flower clip}}

All my favorite little smushy baby girls at church have these super cute, super giant flower headbands made out of nylon material.  Every Sunday the headband is adorned with a new pretty flower--and I have always wondered how to make one.

And since this is Headband Week at Little Miss Momma, I thought it would be the perfect time to teach myself--and YOU!  So here is my version of how to make your very own nylon baby headband with a slot to switch out your flower clips whenever you want--PERFECT baby shower gift!

Let's just say that the hubby wasn't too excited when I used Baby W as a model for my latest headband tutorial--but a Momma's gotta do what a Momma's gotta do when you have a lil guy instead of a lil girl.

Here's what you'll need:
A pair of nylons in your choice of color
Flower clip {mine has an alligator clip}
Needle and thread
Ribbon in color of your choice {about 6 inches}
Scissors
Hot glue

STEP ONE:
Cut off the toe of one leg of your nylons.

Now cut the other end of the leg just before the woo-hoo region.

You should have one leg of nylon now {minus the toe and the top}.

STEP TWO:
Take your needle and thread and sew the ends together with an up and down stitch.

Don't knot of the end.  Instead, scrunch up the headband and then wrap the extra string a few times around the headband {see pic for better explanation}:

Now knot off you string.

STEP THREE:
Now you'll want to hid the ugly string with some pretty ribbon.
I used a lighter to singe the end of my ribbon so that it would fray.

Place a dot of glue on the backside of the scrunched part of your headband, and then place the end of your ribbon firmly onto the glue.

Wrap your ribbon around the headband like so:

Then cut off the excess ribbon, singe the end, and place hot glue down and glue the other end down to the headband.

**IMPORTANT**: Be sure that when you glue your ribbon down, you do so on the INSIDE of the headband--because you want there to be a slot for your flower clip on the FRONT of your headband.
Then take your clip and slide it through the ribbon slot:

And VOILA!
Your very own little baby girl precious stretchy headband!
{You can add a piece of felt to your flower clip so that it doesn't scratch your precious Little's head}

I had to squeeze in this last picture of the LAST headband Baby W will ever wear--EVER!  He's gonna just love this picture when he's 16, don't you think?

Remember to check back all week long for even MORE headband tutorials--because it's HEADBAND WEEK at Little Miss Momma!

And stop by on FRIDAY to our LINKY PARTY where you can link up all things headband related!
Hooray!!!

Happy Headbanding!
